Who is this For?
Thread lifts are a safe, effective and non-surgical alternative to obtain an immediate facelift effect while boosting collagen production at the same time for long-lasting firm and supple skin.
This procedure is more easily planned for compared to the traditional surgical facelift which has significant downtime.
Threads are highly versatile as there are different types of threads to fit different needs.
Hence it can be used for specific areas showing sagginess and requiring support. It can also be used to provide a collagen boost in delicate areas such as the undereye area.
There exists a wide variety of threads in the market today. They can be made of PDO, PLLA or PCL, or even a combination of those. They can also feature cogs, hooks or cones purposefully directed. With thorough evaluation and consideration of all factors, we rationalize, select and design the threads placement, sometimes in combination, to appropriately and maximally lift your skin.
Thread lifts are commonly used to address these aesthetic issues:
- Mild to moderate jowls
- Turkey neck
- Saggy mid cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Saggy under-eye tissues
Thread lifts are safe and are done in-house in the comforts of the treatment couch, with discomfort levels varying between individuals.
Thread lifts begin with a thorough cleansing and application of anaesthetic cream. The doctor will designate the placement of the threads for the best natural results.
Next, local anaesthesia is injected at the entry and exit points of the thread.
Threads are inserted without the need for any incisions. Once insertion is finished, the threads are tightened to effect the tissue reshaping and achieve better contours.
Overall, the procedure takes about 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of threads.
This procedure is performed by our doctors who are registered with the Singapore Medical Council.
You can expect to see better contours in the areas where the threads are inserted. As more collagen is produced within the deep layers of your skin in the following months, you may notice that previously saggy areas of your skin becoming more full, plumped and lifted. Over time, your skin texture becomes smoother and your face becomes more contoured.
Threads are made from materials that are fully metabolized by our skin tissues over time, while stimulating the production of collagen.
There may be tightness, mild swelling, soreness, redness and bruising at the end of the treatment. These are expected and is no cause for alarm.
You may encounter uneven skin folds as a result of the treatment pulling up the loose skin, which takes up to 2 weeks to smoothen out.
