Who is this For?
This laser removal treatment is ideal for those who are tired of having to repeatedly shave or wax. It is also a solution for unsightly ingrown hair.
Laser hair removal is a fast, safe and permanent method of hair removal that is maintenance-free.
This procedure uses a Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser to produce a 1064nm wavelength of light that can selectively destroy hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. This decreases hair growth with every laser treatment, reaching the point of permanent hair removal.
This laser is safe for all skin types, including those with darker skin.
After the treatment area is prepped with a cleanser and an anaesthetic cream, the doctor pass the laser over the treatment area.Cold air is blown over the area as the laser is applied to make the procedure more comfortable. The sensation a patient will experience is best described as a rubber band lightly snapping on the skin.
Treatment time duration depends on the size of the treatment area.
This procedure is performed by our doctors who are registered with the Singapore Medical Council.
After the laser treatment, the treated hair roots will get extruded by the skin in the next 3 – 5 days.
Hair cycles are about 4 – 6 weeks, hence it is necessary to have a repeat session every 4 weeks. An estimated 6 to 8 sessions is needed to fully reduce hair growth in the treatment areas, although genetics play a role in determining the number of sessions required. Some people may require maintenance laser treatments.
There is no downtime for laser hair removal.
To ensure permanent hair removal, it is best to repeat laser treatments every 4 – 6 weeks. Maintenance sessions can be about 3 months apart.
